EMPLOYMENT/INTERN PROGRAM

Art Program is seeking an intern interested in gaining hands-on experience in an art education program that centered in afterschool programs. The Programmatic Support the admin staff with a variety of administrative, artwork preparation, and programmatic support tasks. In addition to project work, interns may attend staff meetings and become an integral part of I Am Not My Body Arts team. The Programmatic Support Intern will obtain a full perspective on the inner working of a small art education program, gain programmatic support experience and learn practical skills including juggling priorities and deadlines.

I Am Not My Body Art Internship Part-time (15 hours/week), July 8, 2024- August 31, 2024 Rate of Pay 17/hr.

Programmatic Support Responsibilities: The following is not a comprehensive list of projects, and interns may not necessarily work on all of these projects. Specific projects will be determined by staff in collaboration with the intern.

  • Assist with artwork printing and preparation as needed.

  • Assist in updating files within and maintaining the general organization of Google Drive.

  • Package art supplies into art kits.

  • Support IANMB’s community-based programs.

  • Assist in administrative tasks as needed.

  • The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following professional and personal qualities, skills, and characteristics.

    Qualifications: Must be a highly motivated, independent, reliable, and enthusiastic team player, have high enthusiasm to pursue new projects and learn new skills, and previous experience in the arts and education field is a plus.

  • Strong interest in nonprofit programming, administration, arts in health, and/ or arts education.

  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment with high expectations.

  • Excellent and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional file management and computer skills, including Google Docs, sheets, and Drive.

  • Active listener with the ability to synthesize the information and translate it into action plans.

  • Superior organizational skills and excellent follow-through

  • Ability to manage and manipulate artwork files with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Comfortable working on multiple projects at once.

I Am Not My Body Empowerment Program Position Development and Communication Internship Part time (10 hours/week), temporary Dates will be announced Hybrid, some evening and weekend work may be required for events.

Summary of position I Am Not My Body is seeking an intern interested in gaining hands-on experience in fundraising and marketing at an empowerment nonprofit. The Development and Communication intern will support the administrative staff with a variety of tasks, including our Art Contest and our annual fundraising event Night of Healing through the Arts. The Development and Communication intern will obtain a view into the inner workings of a nonprofit, gain office experience, and learn practical skills, including juggling priorities and deadlines.

Development and Communication Intern Responsibilities The following is not a comprehensive list of projects, and interns may not work on all of these projects.

  • Provide support for our 2024 Night of Healing which includes but is not limited to. Managing silent action solicitations, donations, packaging, and other coordination. Supporting invitation mailings. Supporting data entry, tracking, acknowledgement letters, and other administrative coordination.

  • Provide Support for Marketing efforts including Social media: planning, writing, designing, and posting on various platforms. Monthly email newsletter Content creation Marketing data tracking and reporting

  • Prepare acknowledgement letters and manage Development data entry and reporting.

  • Support mailings and other annual/semi-annual campaign initiatives.

  • Assist in the production of special events such as Board events other Devlopment and Marketing tasks as needed (graphic design asset management, emails, etc)

    I Am Not My Body Inc is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering women and children through comprehensive programs that focus on health and wellness, childcare assistance, access to nutritious food, and events that foster personal and professional growth. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and reach their full potential.

    Summary of Position

    We are currently seeking candidates with the following traits and skill sets:

  • Passion for the mission and interest and ability to serve as an advocate and ambassador for I Am Not My Body.

  • Proven experience in the following fields: education, human resources, law and finance.

  • Willingness to leverage personal and professional networks that create new opportunities for increasing the organization’s visibility, partnerships, and donor base.

  • Orientation toward honesty, sensitivity to and tolerance of differing views, a friendly and responsive approach, community-building skills, personal integrity, a developed sense of value, concern for I Am Not My Body development, and a sense of humor.

  • Engagement in I Am Not My Body commitment to generating an environment centered on learning, equity, and inclusivity.

    Board Member Expectations

    Meeting and Events

  • Attend four of six Board meetings per year and other meetings as required by the Boards President.

  • Serve on at least one committee or short-term task force. Committees currently include Board Resource, Finance, Development, Expansion, Program, and Racial Equity Working Group.

  • Attend annual gala (Night of Healing Through the Arts) and other events.

  • From time to time throughout the year, attend events to demonstrate support for IANMB and to best understand its work and impact.

    Expertise

  • Provide valuable insight and direction in areas of expertise such as education, human resources, law, and finance.

  • Work individually with IANMB staff on project in your area of specialty when the opportunity arises.

    Financially Support

  • Financially support I Am Not My Body through both a personal donation and the facilitation of donations for a minimum combined total of $2,500 annually.

  • Reach out to your networks for financial support.

  • Participate in IANMB’s annual fundraising gala by soliciting cash in-kind donations from friends, family, and colleagues.

  • Help to raise funds in other ways, including writing personal notes on Fall appeal letters and event invitations, and contributing information to grant proposals.

  • Host or co-host a board fundraising event annually.

  • Outreach/ Relationship Building

  • Introduce friends and colleagues to the work of IANMB.

  • Help identify and cultivate prospective Board Members for IANMB.

  • Recruit Host Committee members for annual Gala.
